The cars get its power from MULTI POINT F/INJ 2 litre petrol engine, which creates maximum torque of 200Nm @ 4400rpm and power of 106kW @ 6000rpm. The power to weight ratio is about 75.3W/kg. The ratio is quite good, considering the engine, so this means that you get good amount of acceleration and power. Qashqai takes comparatively lees time to reach 100 km mark, and drives well. On city roads, this car has better drive quality than most of the cars in the segment. Fuel efficiency is economic. It drives 100 kms in 6.9 litres, and has a tank capacity of 65 litres which give you decent 750 km range per full fuel tank. This car drives very neat on city roads, and engine doesn’t sound rough even on high RPMs. This is quite a problem with small engine cars, but this car is an exception.
Steering & Suspension
As written above, this car is very smooth in driving experience, and steering is one of the reasons. It has RACK & PINION – POWER ASSISTED steering, which just moves by your finger. You can turn the steering by small amount of force only, making it to turn very smoothly. Also, you can take sharp turns in cities really well, due to the 11.2 turning circles, though it is big, but sensitivity of steering nullify the effect.
On city roads, there are hardly any bumps, but if you want to drive country side, or with dirtier roads, this car won’t disappoint you. The front suspension is MacPherson strut type and rear is multilink system. The Nissan has made this department really well, and it drives of neat over bumps. Same is the case with braking; it has nice distribution of brake power, which resists the momentum really well.
You have plenty of stability features in the car that makes the driving experience neat and clean. They’re Brake Force Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Holder and Traction Control System. Collectively, they constitutes to the unmatchable driving experience of this car in the segment. Other standard features like Screen, controls over steering, phone connectivity and reversing camera are present/ leather seats feel good, and overall interior is designed well. It is advance and at the same time simple. However build quality of doors on the inner side could have been better. Safety features are there like air bags, and hazard button. It is a complete package of features at the price is being sold.
Space and comfort
This car offers you a lot of space, which is 430-litres, which means you can carry people and luggage at the same time without making extra space by folding seats. Though seats are foldable for extra luggage, but you’re hardly going to do that. This car is comfortable for long driving, because of appropriate amount of leg space. This car’s comfort level is unmatchable in the mini SUV section, and it really outdid itself. This is car perfect for city roads and daily commute.
